goal oriented.

holden goes bang bang.

have a goal or two. celebrate reaching them with pistolero fingers. repeat.

so, nothing is going to stop you?

no-stop

it’s easy to mouth off in defiance, “ain’t nothing or no one gonna stop me from living my dreams…” but in reality just about everything is set-up in this life to do just that…stop you from living your dreams. but that is where you come in, have the determination to be your own person, set your own sights, and follow through on “you.” it’s gotten a little cliche’ but “you do you” isn’t such a bad message. do you, and push through, you can get there…where ever there is for you.

old wood.

old wood.

“You’re either gonna be a terrible old man or a really cool old man, so you might as well try and point your way towards cool. “- John Dwyer, Thee Oh Sees

we all wear different hats.

hats.

mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, lovers, fighters, friends, enemies, walkers, runners, talkers, sinners…there’s all those hats and more.

all the world’s a stage,…

the stage

“on stage I’m just me having a bad day.” –Nick Cave

it’s beginning to look a lot like…

holden-goal-nc
spring soccer. it’s looming. hard work for boys, long drives, hotel rooms, hotel coffee and grass stains…oh, and goals.

goddamn, this is real.

Alley way.

this isn’t some kind of metaphor,
goddamn, this is real.

leave the planet…

No jobs...

so yeah, been on a listening tirade involving the Galaxie 500 catalog. i always loved them in that “wow, they sound like the Velvets” sort of way. i really discounted how much more they were…i’ve had this one on repeat a few times this morning…

You said, it’s time to get your clothes on
You said, it’s time to leave the planet
You said, don’t even bring your wallet
You said, it’s time to leave the planet
You said that I could bring my guitar
You said, it’s time to leave the planet
You said that I could bring my guitar
You said, it’s time to leave the planet

Face Palm

Palm Readings

palm reading was used during the Middle Ages to detect witches. It was believed that certain spots on the hand indicated one had made a pact with the Devil. although it was condemned by the Catholic Church but in the 17th century it was taught at several German universities. Britain outlawed palmistry in the 18th century but it’s popular enough in America in the 20th century to deserve its own book in the Complete Idiot Guide series. this place above is on 2nd street in Nashville, one of busiest, tourist walks in the South. don’t get me wrong, i ain’t judging but instead of dropping $40 to have someone tell you your future, why don’t you take that money and go live it.

what would…?

WWWWD?

hey, the newest year is here, i would usually say, “it’s a time for reflection,” but i have a different outlook now that i am legitimately “old.” i’m more into questioning as a new way of going at the other half or so of my existence. the “what can, what if, and what would” as i examine the where next of this life…anyway, have a happy new year. i’m going to say, “why not?”
